Chasing the Sunset is a West Marches-style exploration game using Fellowship 2nd Edition‘s Horizon rules.

The fellowship: Dryden of Conwall the Collector/Hunter, Averiela the Elf/Elven Elite, Edna Crusher-Harcourt the Ogre/Knight, Markus the Squire

Last time, Edna rallied the Fellowship to rush north and defend the Hidden Library. Lucia chose to stay in the Forgotten Lands and let Markus (the regent and her younger brother) go along to get a taste of adventure. Flying north on their ship, the Luna Penumbra, they encountered a huge flying turtle with a castle on its back.

The fellowship: Edna Crusher-Harcourt the Ogre/Knight, Vestri the Dwarf, Yuri the Outlander/Apex

Last time, the Fellowship settled their deal with Lady Evelynn so that Vestri did not have to break an oath or rob the Hidden Library. But the Hidden Library will soon be invaded, and the Fellowship is determined to protect it.

Last time, the Fellowship caught up with the forgers that they promised to capture for Lady Evelynn. Edna ran into her older sister, and it didn’t go well. Ejected from a village that thinks it’s the last bastion of civilization, the Fellowship travels west.

Chasing the Sunset & Chloe

Chasing the Sunset is a West Marches-style exploration game using Fellowship 2nd Edition‘s Horizon rules.

The fellowship: Edna Crusher-Harcourt the Ogre/Knight, Vestri the Dwarf, Yuri the Outlander/Apex

Last time, the party realized they took Lady Evelynn’s help to recover Vestri’s stolen dagger, but didn’t do any of the things they promised to do: bring the forgers and the real weapon they claimed to sell back to Lady Evelynn. They returned to the Oolite Mine, where they last saw Tomay and Soday, the forgers.

Zabriskie Point is wild

Most of Zabriskie Point is shot with 70s-style telephoto zoom lens, just pointing the camera at whoever is speaking. Nothing spectacular.

Then the movie goes out to the desert and this shot really made me lean forward and pay attention.

The airplane appears in the background while Daria fixes her car. Closing the hood reveals the airplane again. It even appears in the thin slit of sky between the door and roof! That’s so hard to do!

Speaking of precisely positioning the airplane, here’s a terrifying stunt. Respect to the stunt performers!

 

That’s no stunt performer! They put the lead actress in that car and aimed an airplane at her.

Later they cut to a close-up to emphasize a line of dialog, but the camera is on the wrong side! I never know what to expect with this movie.

Chasing the Sunset is a West Marches-style exploration game using Fellowship 2nd Edition‘s Horizon rules.

The fellowship: Dryden of Conwall the Collector/Hunter, Averiela the Elf/Elven Elite, Lucia the Brave the Heir/Halfling Sheriff, Edna Crusher-Harcourt the Ogre/Knight

Last time, the Fellowship entered the second of three doors and solved another magical puzzle. Only one door remains, and the second puzzle gave them a key.
